A fighting skills and self-defence program for people of all cultures who value pride in their heritage, strength in themselves and respect for others.
Ngurra is a word found in several Aboriginal languages, with meanings including home, Country, camp and a place of belonging. It expresses the connection between people, place and community.
Born from a respect for Australia’s First Nations cultures and their enduring connection to Country, Ngurra welcomes people from all cultural backgrounds, including those beginning a new life in Australia.
Through martial arts, practical self-defence and shared learning, participants develop confidence, discipline and physical skills while building friendships across cultures. It is a place to celebrate your heritage, respect the cultures of this land and build strength together.
A welcoming environment where everyone can learn, participate and grow with confidence.
Bringing First Nations Australians and people from diverse cultures together through martial arts, movement and shared learning.

Building physical strength, resilience and leadership so participants can contribute to their communities and support one another.
Join the expanding network of regions bringing Ngurra Warriors to life across Australia and the Torres Strait.
Each program is guided by community permission, honouring local culture and celebrating identity with every step.
We’re deeply grateful to our partners who share our vision of strength, pride, and culture united.
